My Story

I was raised in the Roaring Fork Valley, where my story began with my parents' journey from Sonora, Mexico in the early 1990s. Growing up in a bicultural home shaped the way I understand identity, resilience, and the importance of feeling seen and understood.

I graduated from Aspen High School and went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in Psychology, followed by my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Candidate with the State of Colorado.

My path into this work has always been rooted in a desire to support others in a way that feels real, compassionate, and culturally responsive. I have had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, as well as those who are navigating complex life experiences and systemic barriers.

My work is deeply influenced by my own lived experiences and my connection to my community.

Inspiration for Floreciendo Counseling

“I became a garden so no one would see the desert I carried inside me. I planted flowers in the darkest corners, where only pain once hid. Not as an act of vanity, but as a way to resist and to stay alive.

Blooming does not erase the pain; it transforms it. The desert does not disappear, but it is no longer the only thing that lives within you. Where something once felt impossible, color slowly comes back to your life.

Suffering is a part of me, but so is my desire to keep going. Because even in the desert, there are seeds hidden beneath the surface, and we learn that among dry roots, unexpected flowers can grow.

Every petal, every leaf, every branch of our inner garden is proof that pain can be transformed into life, into color, into strength. Every flower that grows from our sadness reminds us that we can exist with what hurts and still create beauty in our lives.

Blooming is a quiet act of resistance; a daily decision to stay, to feel, and to keep going. It is learning to hold life even when it hurts, and still believe that something new can grow within you.”
